As an SLP, I am considered a Special Education Teacher who provides speech/language assessment for students who demonstrate difficulty in acquiring appropriate speech sound production or language skills in order to effectively communicate with others. Those students that have been identified as meeting eligiblity criteria for significant Speech or Language need by the IEP Team, then often receive some individualized and specialized instruction and supports to meet those needs. The IEP Team, including parents and myself consider the best way to provide those supports for each individual child (IEP).
